PRESIDENT MESSAGE:

I am honoured to be a part of the Nagaland Nursing Council, the sweet fruit of many years of hard labour by the senior nurses of Nagaland. It is serendipitous that the Council is being established in 2020, the “International Year of The Nurse and The Midwife” as declared by WHO and during a time such as these, when the whole world acknowledges the contribution of nurses to global health in the light of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Nursing is considered a noble profession, at the heart of which lies honesty, hard work, dedication, empathy and compassion and much more. These qualities need to be reflected in the service rendered by its members. Nursing in the modern world has become much more complex and modern healthcare demands that the highest standards in nursing care are maintained. Professional performance standards must be well defined to protect nurses working in hospitals and educational institutions as well as ensure that patients receive quality nursing care.   Nagaland Nursing Council will work to ensure that the credentials of nurses are maintained, its members abide by the code of ethics, standards and competencies are updated through continuing nursing education, empowering nurses of the state to provide quality nursing education and nursing care to the patients.

FROM REGISTRAR DESK:

It gives me immense pleasure and pride to announce the launch of the Nagaland Nursing Council. The Nagaland nurse’s vision of having their own Nursing Council has come into reality today. All glory and praise to our Almighty God. We are thankful to the government of Nagaland for this historic achievement. This Council will now regulate the functioning of the nurses’, the nursing schools and the colleges when they come up.

In today’s dynamic and complex health environment, the role of a nurse keeps evolving and changing. There is a growing need of well trained nurses who are technically sound, specialised in various fields and are well informed with the latest healthcare technologies. We, at Nagaland Nursing Council believe in reforming and strengthening the nursing cadre in the health care delivery system including hospitals & community through continuous improvements in nursing education and practice.

As the Registrar of the Council, I offer my best wishes to all the nursing fraternity to grow and excel in this challenging and competitive era and achieve the pinnacle of success.

May the nursing profession attain greater heights in the days to come.
